Conway first teamed up with Animal House not long after they started in 2012 to provide much-needed grooming services for the animals they took in. In 2015, she adopted from Animal House for the first time, and quickly took in her first foster soon after. Next, she started volunteering in the store once a week with her kids, and enjoyed it so much that she ended up staying long after they moved on to the next fascination. Over ten years later, Jessica is now one of Animal House’s most knowledgeable and dependable fosters and is a star member of the rescue’s volunteer group.

 

“Helping cats that have been failed by people is hard, but I find it so fulfilling and rewarding,” says Conway. “I dreamt of opening a catfe for a long time, but I never trusted myself to be able to do it.”

 

Little did she know that the stars would align when Animal House began to outgrow their foster spaces, and simultaneously, Conway needed more space for her growing grooming business. Conway found the current Hazel Park spot, which had everything she needed for grooming, plus extra space that could help house the growing number of rescues at Animal House. With the support of family and fellow cat ladies, and a leap of faith, Catnap Catfe was born.
